Flooring is an essential element of the home. While your family relies on sturdy flooring for everyday activities, perhaps this is the clearest when your floors become damaged.

Floors may experience water damage for many reasons, including water heater leaks, broken pipes and natural disasters like hurricanes or floods. During water disasters, the spread and collection of pooling water are often affect the flooring of homes and businesses the most. There are multiple types of flooring materials from one room to the next in a modern home. SERVPRO of Ventura is prepared to manage and handle the damages to each of these types. When damages to the carpet have already formed, microbial growth on the underside of the fiber’s backing material. To dry the carpet, we have several water removal tactics.

Wood plank flooring is often finished to provide a natural sheen and pleasing aesthetic for the house. Prolonged exposure of standing water, moisture can penetrate the thin coating to get in between planks, underneath this layer and ultimately in the wood itself. Understanding the progression of water damage through these materials and what phases might be necessary is vital to protect the property immediately.

  • Stages of water damage – Surface water is where extraction is easiest. Water removal is possible with trapped moisture with drying mats.
